Meet Our Team

Wes Stecher - Director

Wes is the director of A for Assets (formerly Wesnet prior to 2020), having started the business back in January 1997. Wes oversees the running of A for Assets and develops custom software which is required for things like data entry automation.
Wes grew up on a farm and completed Year 12 in Wangaratta doing maths and science subjects before going on to Melbourne to study. He completed a bachelor's degree in applied science with a double major (Computer Science and Instrumental Science) which has been a useful background to have for the business.
When not working, Wes has many hobbies including chess, skiing, astronomy, and both indoor and outdoor cricket (including playing indoor cricket for Victoria when he was younger). Wes lives at Phillip Island with his wife Georgie and is the proud father of four children, often helping them study in the areas of maths and science in their later years of secondary school.

Georgina Stecher - Management

Georgina forms an integral part of the management team at A for Assets, having initially started with the business back in February 2004 as a stocktaker. Today, she primarily works in the background to support the company’s foundational operations and regularly represents the team at various industry conferences throughout the year. With over two decades of history with the company, Georgina's long-term insight helps ensure the business continues to run smoothly behind the scenes. Her extensive experience from her early days on-site gives her a deep understanding of the business's core values and dedication to schools. Outside of her management role, Georgina is the busy mum of four children and the wife of Wes. In her spare time, she loves to travel and enjoys playing the piano.

Sue – Office Manager

Sue is our Office Manager. Apart from the day to day running of the Admin area, Sue is the person in charge of scheduling our stocktake bookings and providing stocktake quotes and information about our stocktake procedures, to both new schools enquiring about a stocktake and our regular biennial schools. She also coordinates the stocktaker's travel plans and handles communication between our team and the school throughout the stocktaking process. Sue started working with us in February 2020, right as COVID started! With only two weeks to get her bearings, she started working from home and has happily remained there ever since. Sue has worked in a variety of areas over the years, including managerial roles in the tech industry, working as a coordinator in community houses and as an integration aide in both ELS and other government schools. Her background also includes studies in psychology, the arts and most recently in mediation, from which she has now become a qualified mediator. You will catch Sue out and about for some of your conferences, so please come and say hello... Sue loves the opportunity to meet the people face to face that she speaks with every day. In her spare time, Sue likes to read, make jewellery, paint and take long walks on the beach... which is easy to do when you live on Phillip Island.

Fern - Asset Administration Manager

As Asset Admin Manager at A for Assets, Fern helps keep the day-to-day operations of the business running smoothly. Her role involves coordinating school bookings, supporting our administration team, preparing data and files for asset stocktakes, and reviewing stocktake results before sending them to schools for assessment and follow-up. Fern has been with A for Assets since 2006, which means she has had the opportunity to see the business grow and evolve over many years. One of the things she values most is working alongside a dedicated team and building strong relationships with the schools we support. Outside of work, you'll usually find Fern exploring the outdoors, enjoying nature walks, or pursuing creative hobbies. She loves drawing, creative writing, photography, and music, and she's always looking forward to her next concert. Creativity and curiosity are a big part of who she is, both professionally and personally.

Tarin - SAMS & Room Data Coordinator

Tarin manages the updating of school room registers to ensure they accurately reflect current Victorian School Asset Management System (SAMS) Plans and how individual schools internally identify their rooms. After having her son during the COVID years, Tarin reached out to Wes to see if she could join the A for Assets team, officially joining in June 2021. Before joining A for Assets, Tarin worked as a chef for over 20 years before moving into training and education. Her experience includes teaching Hospitality Diploma courses at a private RTO, working as a workplace food safety trainer and assessor at KFC, and delivering Retail Certificate II and III courses. She also supported youth with employability skills and training. Outside of work, Tarin enjoys spending time in her garden and expressing her creativity through drawing, poetry, and singing for fun. She also loves visiting the beach and walking in nature with her family.

Louise - CASES21 Database & Automation Specialist

Louise joined A for Assets in September 2024 as an Administration Assistant, where she quickly learned the role and mastered our automated entry systems. Having developed a thorough understanding of these processes, she now serves as our CASES21 Database & Automation Specialist, taking on the critical responsibility of updating school Asset Registers to ensure they accurately reflect each client's most recent Asset Stocktake. Louise brings a wealth of professional experience across both the public and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining A for Assets, she built a successful career in Healthcare, developing strong organisational and client service skills. Earlier in her career, Louise worked across a range of Victorian Government State Departments, including the Department of Treasury and Finance, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Primary Industries. Her broad professional background has provided her with extensive administrative and operational experience. Louise is known for her attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining accurate records. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

Beth – Customer Relations & Business Development

Beth joined the A for Assets team in August 2023 to drive Customer Relations and Business Development. Passionate about connecting with people, she focuses on building strong relationships with Business Managers, identifying new market opportunities, and representing the company at conferences. Having previously spent significant time executing hands-on database updates and training team members, she possesses a deep, practical understanding of school data systems. With a Social Sciences degree, qualifications in Real Estate, and a diverse background spanning law, property management, and healthcare, Beth brings an excellent analytical skillset and a practical approach to the team. Her broad experience ensures she looks after our clients effectively and keeps our service standards high. Outside of work, Beth stays active by keeping fit at the gym and escaping into the bush for weekend hiking adventures.

Tom - Stocktaker

Having been in this role since February 2014, Tom is the company's longest-serving stocktaker, bringing over a decade of on-the-ground experience to the team. Before he worked for the company, Tom knew Wes personally and Wes thought he would be a great fit, as he is personable and has a strong work ethic that has been instilled in him from a young age. His time management skills really come in handy, as the job requires a lot of flexibility to work around the teaching timetable, moving in and out of classrooms to eliminate any possible disruption. Tom likes to think of his job as a big scavenger hunt; he has got to try and find everything of value he can, no matter where it is. This isn't always as straightforward as he would like, and sometimes he finds things hidden in the strangest places. No two schools are ever exactly the same, so things are constantly changing from day to day and it helps keep the job from getting too boring, which is always a risk you run when dealing with assets! When he is not wrangling his two daughters with the help of his wife (which takes up the better part of any given day), Tom likes to relax. He watches films and reads a lot of books - which is likely what you will find him doing if you see him on his lunch break.

Vinnie - Stocktaker

Vinnie is one of our Stocktakers. Since August 2023, Vinnie has been working with schools to diligently record and tag their assets, eager to walk through the process with Business Managers so they have a clear picture of what's going on. They enjoy speaking with staff to better understand how the school operates and what best suits the school's needs and expectations when going about the stocktake. Their work includes recording data for assets such as iPads, televisions, science equipment and musical instruments, as well as setting up CASES21 for future data entry. Vinnie has a background in Admin Warehouse management which lends well to their ability to accurately collect and enter high volumes of information. Vinnie has a passion for multimedia art and video game design, which they can talk at length about if you're not careful!

Riley - Stocktaker

As our newest member to join the team in February 2026, Riley is responsible for conducting precise physical asset stocktakes, followed by updating and maintaining inventory data within CASES21. Sharp, switched-on, and instantly likable, Riley's proactive nature made it clear from the start that he would be a fantastic fit for the role. Riley holds an undergraduate degree in Music Composition—a background that developed a powerful knack for pattern recognition and solving finicky, detail-oriented challenges. This unique discipline translates perfectly into a methodical, rhythmic, and highly accurate approach to asset tracking. Alongside a musical background, Riley brings an incredibly diverse and adaptable work history, having spent time in childcare, hospitality, landscaping, and most recently, working as an axe-throwing coach (which always makes for a great icebreaker!). Moving between such different fields has given Riley fantastic general skills and a natural ability to connect with people, making him a great, approachable presence when working on-site with our clients. Outside of work, Riley loves playing music on just about any instrument available, and escaping into nature for weekend camping trips.

Vin - Stocktaker

Vin is a Stocktaker for A for Assets, starting in March 2025, and is the son of Wes Stecher. Vin's role around A for Assets involves learning about the different jobs and responsibilities of the business, from stocktaking Primary Schools to updating the CASES21. Vin completed Year 12 in 2022 at Loyola College, and began studying Engineering at Swinburne. While providing a useful foundation for pursuing the business, after 3 years, Vin successfully got into VCA at Melbourne University for Theatre, and is currently in his Second Year. While Vin aims to become a Director of A for Assets one day, Vin also aims to become a director and actor in the theatre world, as his biggest passion in life. Vin loves going down to Phillip Island on weekends to escape the city and join his Dad's family, while he also loves his balance of sport and theatre.
